Life is not random. We’re here to find ourselves, to understand our truth, to be who we were always meant to be.

It’s a process. Back and forth. An upward spiral. Round and round as we learn about life and ourselves. Each turn takes us closer to our truth or essence.

We are not living in isolation. We are part of a much bigger whole. One day we will realise and understand that we are all part of the One.

Everything else is distraction, teaching us lessons from life.

I've worked for over 15 years on a project I named The Essence Map. A route map through life - endings and beginnings, and how these show us who we truly are. It's the crazy way life works. Earth is a school to allow us to experience ourselves in a physical body. Not always pleasant but, if we let it, illuminating.

The Essence Map has guided me through life challenges - its simple premise is that there is always light at the end of the tunnel.

As time has gone on, and life for us all has evolved, it felt as though there was a missing link, something more. The Essence Map on its own was not the full story.

Recently, I came across a woman I'd never heard of before - Joanna Macy. I'm only in the early stages of discovering her work but the thread that runs through it all is about the interconnectedness of the world. Humans are only one part of a living planet. The Essence Map has long talked about Oneness.

I've taken the word spiral from her four stage process.

We both start from a similar place - transforming despair into something positive. Joanna talks of another element, my missing link, - a connection to the environment and how we can live in peace and connected to one another.

Someone online wrote about The Great Turning which piqued my interest. Joanna's transition to a life sustaining society. It requires a vision of a very different way of life, one that I've contemplated but almost dismissed, over the years, as pie in the sky. But I believe that the current commercial and industrial life we have adopted is prime for a reset.
