If you look back over your life, you can see more clearly when your journey began. In my twenties I started browsing the Mind Body Spirit section in Waterstone's, the bookshop on Deansgate in Manchester. I'd become a seeker. I didn't know what I was looking for but I was searching for something.

I did what many do - bought crystals, like it was going out of fashion. Went to events. Tried to find like-minded people.

In my thirties, I discovered Reiki and completed Reiki I. Convinced I was done at that, I gave it no further thought until, 18 months later, I felt a nudge to do Reiki II. I was definitely done at that, especially as Reiki III involved white robes at Stonehenge which was a step too far for me. A few more years passed and I did Reiki III one weekend with a very grounded Reiki Master. I wasn't qualified to teach or attune others but that wasn't part of my plan. Until it was. A few more years passed and a friend, an older woman, taught me how to attune.

My take on life has always been less than mainstream. I've kept some ideas to myself as I tried to fit in.

The Essence Map manifested in my forties when I began to recognise the impact (and importance) of endings and new beginnings, and how pivotal moments transform us.

We are, as a planet, at a major pivotal moment.

We all have far more than we need. Our homes are stuffed with things. Yet so many are unhappy, depressed and lost. We weren't meant to live like this but we've been caught up in the machine.

It's time to exit that machine and live in harmony with the planet and each other. We need to wake up to the unseen hands directing what happens on this planet and regain control. It starts small - first with our own lives by making changes. And then locally in our communities until the ripple effect spreads far and wide.

For a long time I thought that the Essence Map was simply for individuals. Now I see it's for the entire planet and the journey that we are all travelling.
